Lostock Hall Juniors Under 7's

Manager Dave Cookson Assistant Tony Livesey

The under 7's have played just two matches since Christmas, an away defeat at Myerscough was their first fixture for several weeks against one of the leagues stronger young teams, Ben excelled in goals as usual as Lostock Hall put in a good defensive stint with William and Tom both having strong games, Tom winning the man of the match award for his strong defensive play, on saturday 2nd february we travelled to hoole blues who have lost 2 matches all season, the first half was a triumph in as much as great goalkeeping from Ben and terrific tackling and defensive play frustrated their opponents, Ben allowed tom to go in goals and the rest of the team got a run out in the second half as hoole blues ran out winners, Rhiannon was awarded player of the match by the parents. The u'7 now play 3 home matches in a row at mercer road kick off 10 am, and a big thank you to South Ribble Driveways for sponsoring our kit.

Lostock hall u7  0    Euxton villa u7  11

Lostock hall held their own for the first half with Tom and Hannah in particular playing well up front with Ben making some notable saves, the half time score line being 0-4 with Hannah going on a number of powerful runs, good defensive performance from Luke and most improved player this week being tough tackling Kyle, it was also my first performance as referee with Tony taking charge of team affairs on the day, hopefully I’ll be reffing all the home games if I pass my whistleblowers exam on Tuesday, best wishes go out to euxton villas u7 manager who was unable to attend due to being hospitalised with a serious footballing injury and we wish him a speedy recovery.  Player of the match chosen by Tony was Ben who received a trophy for his efforts well done Ben.

Lostock hall u7's 0 Myerscough 11

Myerscough put on a fine display of football rarely allowing lostock hall out of their own half with a series of passing moves, Dylan and Luke and Ben formed well in defence but Tom, Hannah and William rarely got the ball but were immediately crowded out, once the score reach 4-0 the team brought on all their 5 substitutes and a special mention to Oliver who did very well this week when he came on as substitute in the second half, callum was particularly unlucky being on the field for just one minute before being hit in the face by a free kick, well done for being in the right place, sadly callum had to leave the field but he recovered in time for the Halloween Party that the parents arranged and a great night was had by all.

Tony all 7's mom well! Your choice, actually perhaps Luke I thought he did really well, and was the best behaved in training.

Red rose 9 Lostock hall 2

The under 7's put in a much improved performance by putting in their finest first half performance holding their opponents to 1-0 with Ben Gilmore in excellent form in goals, the second half so them go 2-0 behind before the magic moment when they scored their first goal when the ball fell to Dan and his low shot crept in at the post for everyone to go wild puzzling the red rose parents, however 3 quick goals were conceded in the excitement before Hannah ran half the pitch and shot at the keeper, she repeated the same move in the next attack shooting home from the edge of the area to make it 2-5, more goals could have followed before running out of steam

Lostock hall 0 Springfield 6

Not as bad as it looks the team were well organised and could have scored goals with Hannah coming closest in the first half, much improved performance from Rhiannon who played in a more defensive role. Ben continues to improve in goal with one exceptional save in the first half

Bamber bridge 4 Lostock hall 0

This was a really good all-round performance and a six goal improvement in the first return match of the season, again trailing just one nil at half time the team constantly attacked from start to finish with Rhiannon providing a third defender as well as attacking down the left to bring balance to the side, Hannah and Tom had chances but couldn’t provide an elusive goal before conceding a late and undeserved 4th, a really good all-round performance and another good game from Ben in goals well done all

Lostock hall 0- Springfields 15

Lostock hall lost to springfields who showed a good passing game as lostock hall only made rare inroads into the springfields half, Hannah and Rhiannon showing glimpses of their best form, Ben came out of goals for the second half, only a couple of corners and a free kick by Rhiannon were as close as lostock hall u7's came to scoring and are still awaiting their first goal.  However they were depleted by having four players unavailable who should be ready to play red rose away next week

Lostock hall u7 v Penwortham town blues

After losing heavily in their first match lostock hall put on a fine battling performance with matthew providing excellent central defending , and Ben Gilmore performing heroics in goal, luke also put in a solid performance at right back to help keep the game goal less at half time.

Lostock hall made a number of substitutes and were unfortunate to concede a goal in this period, Rhiannon and Hannah supported by Dylan toiled away but were unable to break down the blues defence. The team cheered on by a large crowd then had their team pictures taken with sponsors south ribble driveways.

Gregson Lane u7 v Lostock Hall u7’s

The u’7s played even better than last week again holding their opponents to a draw at half time with another good performance from the back three of Ben, Luke and Matthew, this time Dylan. Hannah and Rhainnon threatened their opponents goal, however they ran out of steam in the second half losing three second half goals.

Kyle had a particularily good first half with a tough tackling performance and Oliver and Lewis came on as subs, Dan had some good runs in the second half but the match ended in defeat

Lostock Hall u’7s v Bamber Bridge

With Kyle unavailable and Dylan ill this was going to be a struggle from the start with a strong tackling strong shooting team proving too strong for the u’7s conceding three in the first half, ben played well in goals but was overwhelmed, the bright point being the excellent all round play of Hannah who was a non stop problem for Bamber Bridge, Callum, Dan, Oliver, and Lewis alternated in midfield and attack but injuries to Callum and Lewis meant that resources were stretched and Bamber Bridge ran in a number of goals in the second half

Penwortham Town Reds Vs Lostock Hall Junior

M atthew keeper), Hannah (captain), Rhiannon , Ben , Dillon, Oliver , Luke, subs Lewis , Calvin , (did not play) Kyle , Daniel . The Under 7's first match ended in a heavy defeat however, they were up against an already experienced outfit and conceded 4 goals in the first five minutes. The players fought to the final whistle and match their opponents for periods of the game. Matthew excelled himself in goals with a fine performance and Dillon tough tackling performance in the second half kept the score down, Hannah and Rhiannon showed a lot of skill and effort and Ben and Luke all performed well as did Lewis and Calvin, who all never gave up at any time. A special mention to referee Ken Williams who refereed this match well as he helped the inexperienced Lostock Hall team learn the rules in a common sense manner. It should also be noted that Ken once played for Lostock Hall early in is footballing career.

T he under 7's would like to thank kit sponsors South Ribble Driveways for their generous sponsorship, and the u7's hope to have their new kit ready for Saturday's home matc,h which will kick off at 10am at the Mercer Road Ground.
